WAXAHACHIE, TX — One man has been arrested in connection with a chain reaction accident that happened in Waxahachie, Texas on Friday, June 13th, 2014, according to a news article released by The Waxahachie Daily Light.
Police familiar with details of the crash investigation have said that they have reason to believe five people were injured when the vehicles they were in became involved in a ten vehicle crash while driving on Interstate 35E around 5:45 Friday morning.
Scene of the Accident
Five people were taken by EMS personnel to area hospitals with unspecified injuries. Some of the victims needed to be cut from the vehicles before the accident.
Authorities arrested Adelberto Moncivias in connection with alcohol related charges in connection with the accident.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
Commentary:
You may automatically assume that all alcohol related accidents happen right after the bars close, and while there is a wide majority that take place within this time frame, these kinds of accidents can happen at all hours of the day, especially if the customer was grossly over served and the alcohol is still in their system following a few hours of sleep. If a bar in Texas serves somebody beyond the point of obvious physical intoxication, the bar could be liable for the damages their customer causes after a crash.
