Lawrenceburg, TN — There was an accident reported yesterday at the Lawrenceburg Aviagen plant that left a worker injured. Police said that the worker wasn’t actually with Aviagen, but was a trainee from Lyons in Decatur.
The accident was reported on Wednesday (February 11, 2015) and involved a cart full of eggs. According to the reports released by the HR department of Aviagen, a worker was nearby a 500-lb cart of eggs that was being transported when the cart accidentally tipped over.
The worker was crushed by the falling cart and had to be taken to a hospital in Huntsville, AL via medical helicopter. His injuries haven’t been specified, but they were believed to be serious.
All this happened at about 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, Feb. 11. So far, no other details have been released, like the man’s name or hometown.
